Frøydis Geithus is a multiple awarded portrait photographer from Sogndal, located in the Western part of Norway. In 1997 she moved to Oslo, and after a few years she started her own studio there.
Her passion for weddings and travel has sent her around the world. She is published in numerous Magazines and Blogs, and she specializes in destination Weddings. This has taken her to places like Canada, Singapore, The Seychelles, Iceland, Italy, France and many more. But she also loves to photograph in Norway, and most of her awarded pictures are from her childhood “backyard”. The fjords and mountains in the county of Sogn og Fjordane.
“As far back as I can remember I always had a camera in my hand. I’m drawn to people and faces. With my camera I can tell their story through my pictures. I’m a portrait photographer, and I absolutely love wedding photography. To document a wedding is all about capturing the emotions, the small details; A father embracing his daughter one last time before he walks her down the aisle. The tears of love, in the bride’s eyes, listening to her husband’s speech. A wedding day is full of them, and to be the one documenting these moments is the best part of my job. A job I don’t take lightly. There’s no second chances when it comes to weddings. That’s why I always make sure I have the best gear with me. I need to trust my cameras. If it’s raining on the wedding day, I’m still going to create magic outside. If the ceremony is in the darkest venue, with just natural light, I need my lenses to handle that. Knowing that I have the best equipment available, gives me the opportunity to be creative and do what I love the most; follow my passion to photograph people, and give them precious memories, that will last forever.”
She has been in the industry for almost twenty years, and a Nikon photographer for just as long.
For the past 3-4 years she has focused on Weddings and personal projects. She is also a well-known speaker, and loves to host and organize workshops both in Norway and abroad.
